    March 25, 2020
    KANG Seonjou
Professor, Dept. of International Economy and Trade Studies
COVID-19 has plunged the world into confusion and depressing situations. According to data provided by Johns Hopkins University, as of March 24, 2pm, COVID-19 infected 381,598 people and caused 16,559 deaths around the world. Medical experts expect that COVID-19 will represent the worst pandemic the world has faced since the Spanish flu which swept the world in three waves between March 1918 and March 1920 on the heels of the deployment of soldiers to Europe during World War I and claimed about 1-2% of the world’s
    population.
