The global political landscape and the political situation surrounding the Korean peninsula are at a critical juncture. A number of factors including President Trump’s “America First” approach, intensifying US-China conflicts, US-North Korea nuclear talks and disagreements between Korea and Japan are affecting each other and thereby shaping the current political climate. It is projected that the shifting world order will change the security landscape on the Korean peninsula in the years to come.
