With President Xi Jinping delivering a 3.5 hour speech on the first day, the Communist Party of China (CPC) held its 19th Party Congress in Beijing from October 18 to 24, 2017. And at the closing session, a total of 2,280 delegates elected 204 members with full voting rights along with 172 alternate members of the 19th Central Committee, and the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). The Congress also approved the amendment of the Party Constitution in order to enshrine the key thoughts of Xi Jinping with the sinicization of socialism for the Xi's new era.
