Donald Trump, a ‘political outsider’ with extreme campaign pledges, was elected as the president of the United States last year.
Therefore, dramatic changes were expected in U.S. domestic policies, and U.S. foreign policies were anticipated to become more unpredictable. After his inauguration, Trump demonstrated his strong
will to implement his key campaign pledges by signing an array of executive actions, such as repealing Obamacare (Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act), exiting the country from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, building a wall across the US-Mexican border and banning citizens of seven (later six) Muslim-majority countries from entering the US.
