supplementary agreement was 
reached during the additional FTA 
negotiation between Korea and the 
U.S., which was held from November 
30 to December 3. As the ratification 
of the Korea-U.S. FTA, which was 
signed in June 2007, was being delayed unexpectedly, a 
number of economic effects that Korea was expecting to 
pull out of the Korea-U.S. FTA, such as an increase in 
trade with the U.S., have not been realized. In this regard, 
various political and economic factors at both domestic 
and external levels in both countries can be examined to 
find an explanation as to what delayed the ratification of 
the Korea-U.S. FTA.
