Wingstrand 대사는 1983.2.2. 전두환 대통령에게 신임장을 제정함. 동 대사는 신임장제정사를 통하여 한국 동란시 스웨덴의 의료단 파견과 중립국감시위원단(NNSC)의 일원으로 활동하고 있는 스웨덴의 역할에 대해 언급하고, 한국의 경제발전에 감명 받았다고 하면서 재임중 양국간 경제관계 증진을 위해 노력하겠다고 언급함.
